Now here’s a piece of news that’s interesting: Big Sam is set to take ex Real Madrid and Besiktas star Guti on a pre-season tour of Austria.

I quite like the guy myself and has shown some real class over the years for Real Madrid. The only thing that might cause a bit of concern is his partying. He might be able to put even Mario Balotelli in the shade 🙂

The 35 year old Guti  will be offered a two year deal by Allardyce if he can prove he’s fit enough to play and i suppose that’s fair enough, isn’t it. His experience will no doubt come in handy for the hammers who are back in the big time and plan to stay there.

Apart from always being in the press in Spain and always being seen “out and about”, Guti has won many trophies with Real Madrid and Spain. For Real Madrid he’s won 15 titles including an astonishing five La Liga titles and three Champions League trophies. Guti has also made more than 500 appearances for both club and country.

Allardyce wants a player with a cool head and Guti is the man. he’ll add poise and experience to a young Hammers side that’s itching for glory.

“West Ham will make a final decision before the next season starts. I cannot discuss what terms could be offered.”

said Barry O’Connor, who looks after Guti’s affairs in England.

Guti, whose real name is José María Gutiérrez Hernández would be a nice summer catch for West Ham providing he passes a fitness test of course. Guti moved to Besiktas after new boss Jose Mourinho said he would not be counting on him in his future plans. What are your thoughts on the Spaniard?

About Stevo

Stevo can remember going to games with his Dad and seeing the likes of Clyde Best of all people. He also has a few mates who have “done” complete seasons too – and that was when the Irons were in division one. That’s every home and away game – unbelievable! Stevo plans to do this himself next season!

Comments

  1. Let’s hope so mate, I think it’ll be good to see someone like Guti in the Prem

  2. Mark Roberts says

This guy wasn’t too bad in his day, I guess Sam has a knack of getting older top class players to have one last hurrah at the club he is managing… Didn’t do too bad for Bolton with Jay Jay, Youri Djorkaeff and Ivan Campo etc so maybe it can work for us! COYI!
