West Ham picked up a 2-0 win over Fulham over the weekend, rising to 9th in the table by virtue of their victory over Claudio Ranieri’s side. The Hammers, as mentioned by manager Manuel Pellegrini after the game, didn’t create too many chances, but were clinical with the few that they created.
While the likes of Garth Crooks (BBC) and Danny Mills (Sky) didn’t have any West Ham players in their TOTW, Jamie Redknapp and Robbie Savage thought a couple of Hammers did merit representation in their team.
Redknapp had Brazilian midfielder Felipe Anderson in this TOTW for Round 17, while Savage had places for both Anderson and Paraguayan defender Fabian Balbuena.
In both Redknapp and Savage’s teams, Balbuena was partnered with Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk in defence. Redknapp’s team also had former West Ham youngster Domingos Quina in it. The teenager, who moved to Vicarage Road earlier in the summer, scored his first league goal for Watford over the weekend- a stunning strike against Cardiff. The Hornets are West Ham’s next opponents by the way!
Check out the various Teams of the Week for Round 17’s action, as named by various noted pundits.
Jamie Redknapp’s Team of the Week
Robbie Savage Premier League Team of the Week for GW17
Garth Crooks’ Premier League TOTW for Week 17- No West Ham player
Danny Mills TOTW for Round 17- No West Ham player
Ings (Southampton) and Van Dijk (LFC) were the only players to be named in all four Teams of the Week above. Man City forward Gabriel Jesus did not make it to Mills’ Team of the Week, while Xherdan Shaqiri was missing from Crooks’ TOTW.
