Hammers let themselves down against City

The Hammers let themselves down on Saturday in my opinion and gifted City a win that wasn’t rightfully theirs. Ok, the Manchester outfit showed pockets of dominance but so did West Ham and I am shell shocked Pellegrini’s men walked away with 3 goals at the Boleyn Ground.

Ricardo Vaz Te goal

Ricardo Vaz Te’s goal against Manchester City

Apart from Vaz Te’s  blinding goal, Allardyce stuck to the formula that trounced Tottenham two weeks earlier and became a cropper. The Hammers had no recognised striker up front and facing City that was a big no no.

This was also City’s first away win of the season and it was the enormous check-book and talent that made the difference between the two side in the end.Ricardo Vaz Te’s goal made it that much bearable for the home side to stomach I suppose.

Jaaskelainen was his usual great self and stopped the visitors from netting more spoils with the West Ham defense rather complacent in front of him.

How did they let Alvaro Negredo dummy the ball so Sergio Aguero could go one to one with Jussi is beyond me.Aguero then later on was left unmarked in the box to head home just after the restart.West Ham have some big guys at the back and to let the Argentine elf have a free header at Jussi was a joke.

In the end, the Hammers didn’t take their chances while City made taking chances oh so easy.

The Hammers were dominating possession when it was 1-2 to City and it would have been better for Allardyce to bring on Mladen Petric then rather than wait for the third to go in and then bring him on.The inability to take our chances and net more goals cost us dearly on Saturday. Let’s hope we turn things around.

About Stevo

Stevo can remember going to games with his Dad and seeing the likes of Clyde Best of all people. He also has a few mates who have “done” complete seasons too – and that was when the Irons were in division one. That’s every home and away game – unbelievable! Stevo plans to do this himself next season!
