West Ham’s Dimitri Payet finished 17th in the 2016 Ballon D’Or vote. Payet grabbed a single vote under France Football’s voting system (5 points for first, 3 for second, and one for third) and was joint 17th along with the Real Madrid duo of Toni Kroos and Luka Modric.
Among Payet’s French teammates who were also in the 30 member shortlist, Antoine Griezmann finished 3rd behind Ronaldo and Messi while Paul Pogba was joint 14th along with Bayern’s Chilean star Arturo Vidal. Tottenham and France skipper Hugo Lloris didn’t receive a single vote (along with Aguero, De Bruyne, Iniesta and others)
Dimitri’s a great player, bit of a shame to see him only come 14th though!
