Our new strip for the 2015/2016 Premier League season has been revealed today, and Umbro have come up with a cracker for our last season at the Boleyn ahead of the big move to the Olympic Stadium. It’s also our first Umbro made uniform since 2010- we inked a five season deal with them to replace Adidas beginning the 15/16 season.
Given the teaser promos ahead of the big reveal dubbing it as the “Boleyn Ground” kit, it was obvious that Umbro would come up with a retro one, and we expected them to give us a good one.
Our jhopes had been raised after seeing the kit they gave Derby, and we have not been disappointed. Umbro have decided to take inspiration from the 1904 one- the first season we played at the Boleyn (our first game was against Millwall!).
Claret shirt, with sky blue sleeves and a hoop around the neck. Golden club crest on the chest, with 1904-2016 (our years at the Boleyn), present below. Boleyn tribute detailing at the back too.
BetWay are shirt sponsors, but will not have their names on the kids’ tops.
White shorts, and claret and blue socks complete the look.
Goalkeeper shirt is all green, which doesn’t appeal to us very much, but more of the focus will be on the 10 outfield players (sorry Adrian!)
We’ll let the pictures do the talking, and in our opinion, Umbro have done a cracking job. We’ll be right up there in those “best kits for the new season” lists.
Better if the adults version didn’t have betway over it
