Diame, Dorrans & Quality Signings

Following on from my Friday Transfer Update there has been a lot of noise coming out regarding West Ham United and possible transfers in and out at the club, but very little in the way of end product.

We was linked with Colombian striker Duvan Zapata at the weekend when The Mirror reported that we had already had a fee accepted for the striker for around £6.7 million, however it appears to have gone very quite on that front.

Graham Dorrans

SkySports reported yesterday that West Ham are ready to make an offer for a former target in the form of 26-year-old Scotland midfielder Graham Dorrans of West Bromwich Albion.

Dorrans was told in January that he could look for a new club, however he completed the season with WBA but Steve Clarke is apparently still happy to let the midfielder go should the right offer come in.

Mo Diame

TalkSport released a story I was expecting sooner rather than later, and that is someone coming in for our Senegal midfield star Mo Diame who had a stellar first season for West Ham last year.

We all know about his hush-hush £3.5 million release clause that he supposedly has, and this time instead of Arsenal it’s Everton who are apparently sniffing round our Diamond Diame with new manager Roberto Martinez keen to be reunited with the midfield player whom he brought to the Premier League whilst in charge of Diame’s former club Wigan.

Big Sam seeking quality addition

Sam Allardyce gave a nice interview to the clubs official website yesterday, he spoke of seeing at least one more top quality player for West Ham United before the season starts:

What I want in that one player is top quality. I want that player coming in to challenge the players already here for their place immediately and keep it. That would help improve the team. I want somebody to come in and make a real difference, as we did last year when the players we brought in made a massive difference. That took us to the next level and led to us having a fantastic season and finish tenth.

Unsettling Rumours

Keeping an eye on the rumour mill I have seen we have been linked with Stewart Downing recently, I hope this is not true as he has never been my cup of tea.

Finally, I still see Titus Bramble is training with the club, I wasn’t too concerned about this until I saw him running out in our first friendly of the season and playing over 45 minutes for us in our win over Cork. Lets hope Sam hasn’t got heat stroke and done something crazy like offer him a short-term deal!

  2. Be wounded if Diame went, absolutely wounded. Need to keep our best players n he is definatly one of them, wont be cheap or easy to replace, need more than the 3.5m we will receive.

Cheap players are fine, look at Diame on a free, bargain of the season! But Bramble is something else entirely!

DONT SIGN BRAMBLE AND DONT LET TOMKINS GO TO NEWCASTLE

  5. If we have to add a couple of players on the cheap so be it .I just wish some people would stop moaning about it and be grateful for what we have because it could be a lot worse .

  6. He’s not that good !!!!!

I wouldn’t worry overly with unsigned players turning out in friendlies. Big Sam did that with a couple of players last summer and never signed them.
