West Ham’s first game after the international break sees Slaven Bilic’s side host Watford this weekend. The Hammers have had a difficult start to the new season, losing to both Chelsea and Manchester City and narrowly edging out Bournemouth for a haul of three points from their opening three games. Dimitri Payet and Enner Valencia both showed their class last night as West Ham came from behind to beat Bournemouth 3-1. Both scored very, very good free kicks after Harry Arter’s first ever Premiership goal had put the Cherries ahead. Winston Reid and Victor Moses are expected to be out for an extended period of time, adding to West Ham’s injury woes. Reid was injured in training on Wednesday and will have a scan tomorrow to determine the nature of his injury, but Bilic has already said that the initial diagnosis is not good and he will be out for a minimum of 4-6 weeks.
Moses picked up his injury in the game against United last weekend, and is set for a similar spell on the sidelines.
The duo joining an increasing crowded injury list, but what will worry Bilic is that the players who are on the treatment table are among his most influential- the likes of Dimitri Payet, Enner Valencia, Diafra Sakho and Manuel Lanzini have been key to West Ham’s success this season. [Read more…]
