Gold confirms Jenkinson interest- West Ham to fight it out with Sunderland for defender

Days after Sunderland had agreed a season long loan deal with Arsenal for Carl Jenkinson, West Ham have jumped into the fray, with chairman David Gold confirming to the BBC that they are interested in re-signing the 23 year old.

Relevant quotes from Gold regarding Jenkinson in today’s BBC interview below. Jenks is currently on duty with the England U21 team at the European Championships in the Czech Republic. England lost their opener to Portugal U21 last night, leaving them with some real work to do in their upcoming games.

We know we need a right-back and will work tirelessly to bring in Carl. If that does not work out, we have other irons in the fire” [Read more…]

Our new strip for the 2015/2016 Premier League season has been revealed today, and Umbro have come up with a cracker for our last season at the Boleyn ahead of the big move to the Olympic Stadium. It’s also our first Umbro made uniform since 2010- we inked a five season deal with them to replace Adidas beginning the 15/16 season.

Given the teaser promos ahead of the big reveal dubbing it as the “Boleyn Ground” kit, it was obvious that Umbro would come up with a retro one, and we expected them to give us a good one. [Read more…]

We can’t publish the whole list of fixtures here owing to factors beyond our control, (click to see them at the BBC), but here is a short synopsis.

First game is away at Arsenal, final day of the season away at Stoke.

Bit disappointing that we don’t have a home game on the final day of the season, would be a classic occasion given that it would also be the last game at the Boleyn [Read more…]

West Ham have only one player at the ongoing U20 FIFA World Cup in New Zealand- Diego Poyet, son of the legendary Gustavo.

West Ham’s first signing of 2015-16- Darren Randolph joins on free from Birmingham

We’ve made our first signing of the summer in the form of Darren Randolph from Birmingham City. Randolph joins on a free, opting not to extend his Birmingham City contract. He will however be officially unveiled only on July 1 when his contract at St.Andrews officially expires.

The Bray born goalkeeper started his youth career at Charlton and left the Addicks at the age of 23 to join Motherwell. He left Fir Park in 2013 to join Birmingham City and has been an ever present for them under the sticks, missing just one league game over two seasons (that too owing to suspension!) [Read more…]

Potts and Nene leaving- Club announce list of departing players

Talented youngster Dan Potts and experienced forward Nene will be leaving the club this summer, according to an official list published by the club. Nene is one of four experienced players to be shown the door, along with Carlton Cole, Guy Demel and Jussi Jaaskelainen.

You’ve got to feel for Nene- very classy player but never quite got the opportunities required to show his talent. Was on big wages too, and him on the wrong side of 30 being probably made it easy for the club to snap links.

Jussi’s been a great servant, but understandable given the rumours swirling around Southend’s David Bentley [Read more…]
