Roberto Soldado would be magic at Hammers

As a La Liga watcher, I have kept a close eye on one of my favourite players only to see him travel up the road and sign for the White Hart Lane guys.

At £26M, Roberto Soldado was a bargain in my opinion and will do really well in the English Premier League. He even scored from the spot the other day for his new outfit against Spanish side Espanyol.

Bringing in Roberto Soldado from Valencia was a shrewd move and if Gareth Bale ends up staying put, which looks unlikely, then the north Londoners would have one of the best chances of Premier League success this year in my opinion.

I used to watch Soldado when he played for Getafe, one of Madrid’s 4 clubs. He sort of reminded me of a Spanish Ian Botham. Ok I know Botham doesn’t play football (yes he did), but I’m talking about his gutsy cricket performances which led England to glory on many occasions.

Soldado’s like that. He lives and breathes football and is not afraid of getting stuck in. He is a Premier League delight and a tough forward who is very well suited to the English game.

My only gripe is that the Hammers haven’t got the cash at the moment to contract the services of a player of his calibre. He would be the ideal forward to team up with Andy Carroll and I could see the pair bouncing off each other beautifully.

Ok, dream time over but that’s something to think about for the future.

The same North London club is talking about Barca’s 22 year old central defender Marc Bartra. A great player who has bags of technical ability and is likened to the new Gerard Piqué . Apparently, he may be surplus to requirements this year and is tipped for going out on loan.

If Barcelona manage to get the much needed central defender in the shape of Agger or David Luiz, then Marc Bartra will surely be heading out of the door at the Nou Camp.

Could West Ham be interested in Bartra, too?  If they could pay his wages, why not.

About Stevo

Stevo can remember going to games with his Dad and seeing the likes of Clyde Best of all people. He also has a few mates who have “done” complete seasons too – and that was when the Irons were in division one. That’s every home and away game – unbelievable! Stevo plans to do this himself next season!
