West Ham United have moved a step closer to signing Colombian strike star Duvan Zapata from Argentinian side Estudiantes.
The Hammer’s were reported to have had a bid accepted in the region of £8 million at the weekend and it now seems the move has taken a positive turn with with club having applied for a work permit for the player.
Zapata, 22, is an extremely promising striker and is eager to get a chance in the Premier League. SkySports suggest West Ham will be trying to get a permit for the player under the special talent rule and will have numerous references from high profile people in the football world regarding Zapata’s talents.
Interestingly enough though, Zapata is treading a familiar path for Colombian players by first moving to Argentina and then making the leap to European football, the last two were James Rodriguez and the goal scoring phenomenon that is Radamel Falcao who are both now playing for one of the new mega rich clubs Monaco.
I really hope West Ham United can pull this off as he looks a fantastic prospect, and with the club having missed out on loan target Romelu Lukaku and Wilfried Bony joining Swansea we were running out of targets.
Have a look at Zapata in action, he looks a beast.

I skipped through the goals. But all i saw were pens, and scabby goals. Apart from the header at the end?
I thought I posted a better video I found, but at least he can finish and I really like to positions he gets into as he was always in the right spot for a lot of those goals which I think is something we have been missing.
