Carlton Cole: Is Hull where donkeys go to graze?

Ex Hammer and free agent Carlton Cole is apparently in Turkey trying to ply his trade with Besiktas. The 29 year old has even had talks with Beckham’s old team LA Galaxy for a move there.

Now, it looks like mighty Hull City are wanting a piece of Cole after a possible deal for Charlie Austin fell through because of a dodgy knee.

As the Sun says: STEVE BRUCE is chasing Carlton Cole and Conor Sammon after having to ditch a £5million swoop for Charlie Austin.

Ok, enough mirth and merriment about Carlton Cole. I just wanted to state the facts about the poor performances put in by him and Hull might be a good place to end up for the donkey.

Before some people jump on my back i want to state a few facts about Carlton Cole. He is the type of striker that you thought would do well at a club like West Ham but always fell short in my opinion. Ok, the lad earned his keep and put in a few good performances now and then.

Consistency wasn’t high on Cole’s agenda though and out of 206 appearances for the Hammers, he only managed to knock in 47 goals! Mind you he has done better for England, knocking in zero goals in a seven appearances!

Carlton Cole had been at West Ham for a while – 2006-2013. That’s a mighty long time to prove yourself to the fans, isn’t it?

Therefore, is Hull City where donkeys go to graze and live out the rest of their days? It appears to be so, according to Hull’s manager Steve Bruce.

About Stevo

Stevo can remember going to games with his Dad and seeing the likes of Clyde Best of all people. He also has a few mates who have “done” complete seasons too – and that was when the Irons were in division one. That’s every home and away game – unbelievable! Stevo plans to do this himself next season!

  3. joe misi says

  4. joe misi says

he was grt how many wanted to leave as soon as the club was relegated even parker and we call him legend bull sheet charlton is a grt lad hope he does well where ever he goes

  5. ed hackett says

A bit harsh ! but very true words.. I still hope he does very well wherever he goes. You dont have to be an amazing footballer to still b a legend

  6. Oh god, the Hull fans are embarrassing our club. It’s very unlikely that Carlton will end up with in my opinion, he’s not the kind of striker we’re looking for, now I’ve said that we’ll sign him tomorrow!

  7. That was a very unfair comment, Although he didnt live up to expectations after the loyal service he deserves some credit. Very unfair blog

  8. Loyalty is great…but he’s right….he does not belong in BPL.

  9. Danny Rice says

A bit harsh Carlton showed a lot of loyalty to us and I wish him the best where ever he chooses to play

  10. Westhamwag says

Hull Tiger – don’t know when you last visited the Boleyn Ground but we also don’t have a running track either

  11. Alright lads, it’s a fair cop. It was meant to be a bit tongue in cheek and I’ve obviously annoyed a few Hammer and Hull fans. It’s probably come across a bit harsh I admit.

I felt I had to vent a bit of fury on the lad and I fully take my hat off to Carlton Cole when he took a pay cut to help the boys out – that was magic. I just feel he never reached his full potential at West Ham and in fact was a bloke I liked to watch.

As I say, it’s a fair cop and I fully deserve to get reamed.

  12. Iron Bobby says

LoL a bit harsh Stevo! Carlton did infuriate me though as he had the attributes to be immense! Loyal as you like though so I wish him well wherever he ends up.

  13. How bitter must you be to write all this? CB is bang on, grow up, plus that goal scoring record isn’t bad an on par with Andy Carrolls

  14. Wanker mighty hull we will see when u tarts come to the KC we don’t have a running track at our ground looser

  15. chortle, I think any club who pays decent wages should expect more from “faithful servants” pal.

  16. nope, that would be the Boleyn Ground, where you just paid millions of pounds for Andy Carroll to take a well deserved rest in the treatment room.

  17. Disgraceful way to describe a bloke who was a good servant

    Grow up

    • Cole wasn’t a donkey but he’s no striker either!!! My dogs loyal but he can’t score either!!!! I’m glad he’s going though, should’ve been a superstar in the championship but still couldn’t do it there, how many times has he scored more than 1 goal in a game????? Thanks Carlton now off you pop…….
